Pandemic of “I am not Good Enough.” “There is something wrong with me.”
Many people come to me with feelings of not being “good enough” They feel they are defective in some way or different They have deep seated feelings of being unlovable or unlikeable. They often have the thought, “there is something wrong with me.”
First of all, everyone feels they are not good enough in some way. It is a universal human condition. Feelings of never being good enough may come from our parents, our teachers, our culture, bullying, or religion to name a few.
Social media perpetuates the feelings and thoughts of “I’m not good enough, my life isn’t good enough, I don’t look good enough, I am not doing all the exciting things my friends are doing.”
Many people beat themselves up and say mean things to themselves. How do you learn to be kind to yourself and be a best friend to yourself? How can you feel good about yourself?
